A year of peace

I has been a year since my last post. I am still in the clinical trial, albeit in the standard-of-care arm. The Enzalutamide is performing spectacularly. My PSA is undetectable and there are no metastatic lesions showing up in the CT and bone scans I get every 4 months. This will fail eventually but for now I am thrilled to get this respite.  I hate, of course, getting a PSA test every 2 months. A little bit of hell each time. However, I am now an expert at this life.

The reality of stage four cancer is very clear to me these days. I have lost several friends to cancer in the last year. One of them prostate cancer. I am getting to the age where people start to go. The average life expectancy of an american mail is currently 76 years.  A lot of people are going to leave. But me? Not today!
